DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HOMETREND INFLUENTIALS PANEL

HomeTrend Influentials can be found in every age group and every income group. That's why the screening criteria used to qualify people for the HomeTrend Influentials Panel does not include demographic requirements.

While HomeTrend Influentials are not selected based on demographic characteristics, there is a certain demographic "center of gravity" = to the HomeTrend Influentials Panel.

Early 40's

  • Although a few are as young as mid-20's and a few are as old as late-50's, 50% of HomeTrend Influentials Panel members are between 35 and 45 years old.

Middle/upper class

  • Although a few have household incomes of less than $75,000, 35% of HomeTrend Influentials Panel members have household incomes of between $105,000 and $160,000 and 35% have household incomes of more than $160,000.

Female

  • Although 5% of the HIPsters are male, the panel skews predominantly female.

Married

  • More than 90% of the HIPsters are married

Two children

  • 65% HomeTrend Influentials Panel members have children at home
  • 44% of those with children at home have two children

Employed

  • 71% are in workforce
  • More than half of those in the workforce are employed full-time
