ABOUT A.J. RIEDEL

A.J. RiedelA.J. Riedel is a highly regarded marketing authority in the housewares industry, the top forecaster of housewares trends, and an advisor to many housewares companies.

A.J. founded Riedel Marketing Group in 1991. RMG is a trusted provider of authoritative market and consumer intelligence on the U.S. home goods and housewares industries.

A.J. works with a broad range of housewares companies from major corporations including World Kitchen, Rubbermaid, Jarden Consumer Solutions, Remington, Salton, Progressive International, and Vornado Air Circulation Systems, Inc. to start-ups and inventors to companies who are evaluating entry into the housewares category or are considering acquisition of housewares companies. She also consults for the International Housewares Manufacturers Association (IHA).

With over 25 years of marketing and market research experience in total, A.J. has specialized in the housewares and home goods industry for more than 17 years. Her knowledge and understanding of the housewares industry encompasses market dynamics, channels of distribution, consumer behavior, and consumer trends.

A.J. is exceptionably good at organizing, filtering, analyzing, and synthesizing massive quantities of data and then applying her housewares knowledge, her marketing insight, and her ability to get beyond what is normally viewed as customary and accepted to hone in on the critical issues, arrive at key findings and key conclusions, and provide new insights.

A.J. published her first syndicated consumer research report in 1998. Since then, she has published more than 40 off-the-shelf syndicated reports.

In 2004, A.J. formed the HomeTrend Influentials Panel (HIP) to help housewares manufacturers and retailers keep their fingers on the pulse of changing consumer trends and behaviors.

A.J. has spoken at numerous industry functions and meetings and is the medias' "GO TO" person for trends and insights in the housewares industry. She is frequently quoted in national newspapers and magazines including the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Wall Street Journal, and industry trade publications.

After earning her MBA at UCLA, A.J. spent the early years of her marketing career in the consumer package goods industry. She helped jump start Wheaties cereal sales at General Mills, increased Grey Poupon sales at RJR Nabisco, and revitalized the air cleaner business at Norelco/N.V. Philips.

A.J. lives in Phoenix Arizona with her husband and son.
