They Can Decide If They Want to Buy “Green” Cookware
While most consumers are not even aware
that there is such a thing as “green” cookware,
those who are aware of “green” cookware are likely to have one of
two initial reactions to the concept: lukewarm interest or skepticism. This is
just one of the things that I learned from the April HomeTrend
Influentials Panel (HIP) online survey about “green” cookware.
I saw many new “green” cookware products
at the International Home & Housewares Show in
March and talked at length about “green” cookware
with the five HIPsters who came to the show with me.
That made me want to find out what the entire HomeTrend
Influentials Panel thought about the idea of “green” cookware
which is why I conducted the online survey in early
April.

American Consumers Are Making
Major Changes in the Types of Foods They Are
Eating
But It’s Not Because They Want to Lose Weight
Over the past several years, 65% of the HomeTrend
Influentials have made major changes in the types of
foods they are eating. That statistic is not surprising:
I have been seeing the trend toward healthier eating
among HIPsters for several years now. What is surprising?
WHY they are making major changes to the types of foods
they and their families are eating. Only 16% are changing
the types of foods they are eating because they simply
want to eat healthier. Almost twice as many are changing
their eating habits because they are making a conscious
effort to limit their exposure to things like pesticides,
hormones, and antibiotics, as well as trans‑fats,
high fructose corn syrup, and preservatives that are
commonly found in our food supply.
