KB Home just launched myEarth, a new program designed
to educate home buyers on the eco-friendly products
available at the KB Home Studios, which are showrooms
where KB Home buyers can go to select flooring, cabinets,
appliances, lighting, and countertops. KB Home Studios
will also participate in environmentally responsible
events and sponsorships, such as sponsoring recycling
programs.

American home owners will be spending record amounts
of money on their homes and record amounts of time
in their homes this year.
Two out of every three American home owners will
be doing a major home improvement, remodeling, redecorating,
or painting project in the next year, according to
Riedel Marketing Group’s 6 th annual report on
home trends, Housewares TrendTracker 2007. They will
also be spending more time in their homes. Four in
ten U.S. households will be eating at home more often
than they did a year ago and one in four will be entertaining
at home more often than they did a year ago.

2007 report highlights the fourteen key trends
that will be impacting the home goods and housewares
market for several years to come.
Housewares TrendTracker 2007 is based on consumer
research conducted with Riedel Marketing Group’s
proprietary 100-member panel of HomeTrend
Influentials. The report identifies the changes
members of the HomeTrend Influentials Panel are making
in their home-based activities and sheds light on emerging
home trends.
HomeTrend Influentials are the bellwether for the
mainstream population because they pick up on new home-related
trends and embrace new home goods much sooner than
the rest of the U.S. population. If HomeTrend Influentials
embrace a new trend, very likely it will be embraced
by mainstream Americans within a couple of years. If
HIPsters reject a new trend, very likely the trend
